Century Home Dental Is Proud To Accept CDCP Patients!
Good oral health is essential to your overall well-being, and regular dental visits are crucial for maintaining both. However, many Canadians face barriers in accessing dental care due to cost. The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a new federal government program designed to make dental care more affordable for millions of eligible Canadians.
What does the CDCP cover?
This plan covers a wide range of standard dental treatments, including:
- Preventive services (cleaning, sealants, fluoride)
- Diagnostic services (X-rays)
- Restorative services (fillings, root canal treatments)
- Complete and partial removable dentures
- Oral surgery services (extractions)
Who is eligible for the CDCP?
To qualify, you must:
- Not have access to dental insurance
- Have an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000
- Be a Canadian resident
- Have filed a tax return in the previous year
How do you apply for the CDCP?
The CDCP is scheduled to roll out in phases from late 2023 to 2025. If you meet the qualifications, you can apply as follows:
- Seniors 70 and older: Apply by phone (invitation letters were sent by March 2024)
- Adults under 70: Apply online as of May 2024 (more information to come)
- Adults with a valid Disability Tax Credit Certificate: June 2024
- Children under 18: June 2024
- All remaining eligible Canadian residents: 2025
Does this plan cover the entire cost of my dental services?
Depending on your family’s net income, you may be eligible for “100% coverage” by the CDCP. However, it’s important to note that this doesn’t mean your service fees will be completely covered, as the CDCP fee guide is lower than the provincial fee guide. This may result in you needing to pay the portion of costs that are not covered by the CDCP.
